The ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC (ACM) and DICK CLARK PRODUCTIONS TODAY (3/17) announced plans for the first-ever broadcast of the “49th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS” live to AUSTRALIA.
The inaugural telecast of the ACMs to a Down Under audience will air MONDAY, APRIL 7th at 10a (AET) on FOXTEL’s COUNTRY MUSIC CHANNEL (CM).
In addition to airing the ACMs for the first time ever, fan voting will be open in AUSTRALIA for the “Entertainer Of The Year” and “ACM New Artist Of The Year” awards. Country music fans in AUSTRALIA can cast their votes at www.VoteACM.com starting TUESDAY, MARCH 25th (MONDAY, MARCH 24th in the U.S.).
The announcement was made from the stage at "CMC ROCKS THE HUNTER FESTIVAL", a three-day AUSTALIAN music festival, by ACM CEO BOB ROMEO and GREAT AMERICAN COUNTRY’s “HEADLINE COUNTRY” host STORME WARREN.
“Country music has extended to a worldwide fan base, largely due in part to the loyal fans in AUSTRALIA,” said ROMEO. “We are excited to partner with FOXTEL on this opportunity to share the experience of watching the 'ACM AWARDS' live with the AUSTRALIAN television viewers.”
“The "49th ANNUAL ACM AWARDS” are set for SUNDAY, APRIL 6th at the MGM GRAND in LAS VEGAS, and televised live on CBS-TV at 8p (ET).
