PANDORA Chief Technical Officer TOM CONRAD blogged on TUESDAY that he was stepping down from his position and "after 10 years, I’m in the process of handing over product and technology leadership to others and transitioning to an advisor role."
THE NEW YORK TIMES also reports, "CHRIS MARTIN has been promoted to Chief Technology Officer and STEVE GINSBERG was named Chief Information Officer, both effective immediately."
“My focus for the last 12 months has been to ensure that the company landed confidently in the hands of an exceptional new leader,” CONRAD wrote on his blog post, referring to PANDORA's new CEO BRIAN P. MCANDREWS, a former MICROSOFT advertising executive. “We’ve found that leader in BRIAN.”
"CONRAD’s resignation comes a few weeks after PANDORA named SARA CLEMENS to be its new Chief Strategy Officer -- the executive title that had long been held by TIM WESTERGREN, one of the company’s founders," adds THE TIMES. "WESTERGREN remains on PANDORA’s board, and a spokesman for the company said that he was 'an integral part of PANDORA’s leadership team'.”
Pandora One Rate Rise
Meanwhile, PANDORA announced it will soon charge new subscribers more to enjoy their ad-free offering. Beginning in MAY, anyone who signs up for the company's premium service -- PANDORA ONE -- for the first time will be charged $5 a month, a dollar more than the current rate.
