A SEATTLE cold-case detective re-examined the police investigation into the death of NIRVANA singer/guitarist KURT COBAIN nearly 20 years ago, the SEATTLE TIMES reported. However, he discovered "no new findings and the case is not being re-opened." contrary to some media reports,
Police spokeswoman RENEE WITT said that the detective “dug up the files and had another look, and there was nothing new.” He did find rolls of undeveloped film, which included photos of the scene, but the new photos were “underwhelming.”
COBAIN, 27, was found dead of a shotgun wound with a shotgun across his body on APRIL 8th, 1994. Electrician GARY SMITH found the body and a suicide note that ended with “I love you, I love you.” The police eventually determined that COBAIN had actually committed suicide three days before, on APRIL 5th. They also found out that he purchased a shotgun, fled a drug-treatment facility, fought with his wife, COURTNEY LOVE, and threatened to kill himself in his last weeks.
