The lawsuit by former Talk KCOH-A/HOUSTON host MICHAEL HARRIS alleging fraud by boss JESSE DUNN and his SOUTH HOUSTON COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORP., which leases the KCOH signal from LIBERMAN BROADCASTING, has been reinstated after being closed in FEBRUARY, according to the HOUSTON CHRONICLE.
The case was reactivated upon a motion for reconsideration after Judge LARRY WEIMAN granted summary judgment in favor of the defendants in FEBRUARY; HARRIS' attorney ROBERT COLLIER told the court that he had not gotten notice of the plaintiff's motion for summary judgment, and WEIMAN reopened the case on MARCH 11th. COLLIER plans to move to place the station operation into receivership.
HARRIS' suit alleges that DUNN used false representations to get HARRIS to secure two personal lines of credit totaling $130,000 for the station and a $38,000 loan for equipment which DUNN used for personal expenses and casino trips. The CHRONICLE reports that HARRIS has received a demand letter from LEAF CAPITAL FUNDING alleging that the station is in default and HARRIS owes $43,433.47.
