WFAN Inks Deal For Spanish-Language Yankees Broadcasts On WADO

CBS RADIO Sports WFAN-A-F/NEW YORK, in the first year of its contract to air NEW YORK YANKEES baseball, has inked a deal with crosstown UNIVISION Spanish News-Talk WADO-A to continue to serve as the YANKEES' Spanish-language flagship. Game broadcasts will be produced by WFAN, with former PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES Spanish-language broadcaster RICKIE RICARDO joining incumbent analyst FRANCISCO RIVERA in the booth.
CBS RADIO NEW YORK SVP and Market Manager DON BOULOUKOS said, “WADO is the radio voice of the Spanish community and we are pleased to continue our relationship with the station and the audience they serve."
WADO VP/GM FELIX PEREZ added, “WADO-1280AM is one of the leading Spanish language News/Talk/Sports station in the UNITED STATES and we are proud to partner with WFAN and the NEW YORK YANKEES, As the Spanish language home of the YANKEES since the mid 1990’s, we know how much the Hispanic community loves baseball and we’re committed to bringing them the play-by-play of one of the most beloved teams in the region.”
