Newsman, TV Manager Philip Nye Dies

Condolences to family and friends of former radio and television newsman and manager PHILIP NYE, who died MARCH 20th at 87, according to the PORTSMOUTH, OH DAILY TIMES.
NYE was known as PHIL PHILLIPS when he served as newsman, host, and News Director at stations like WNXT-A and WIOI-A/PORTSMOUTH, then under his own name at WKNR-A/DETROIT.
He later went into television news at WXYZ-TV/DETROIT, KTLA (TV)/LOS ANGELES, WABC-TV/NEW YORK, and KGO-TV/SAN FRANCISCO before moving up to ABC's owned and operated TV stations as VP of the news division; he also was a partner in BURNHAM BROADCASTING and managed WLUK-TV/GREEN BAY, KBAK-TV/BAKERSFIELD, and WVUE-TV/NEW ORLEANS.
