A federal jury in NEW YORK has awarded EMI "roughly $41 million in a long-running copyright infringement case against defunct music storage service MP3TUNES and its founder MICHAEL ROBERTSON," reports LAW360.COM.
The report notes the jury, "awarded nominal and punitive damages on a host of claims, including allegations the defendants infringed copyrights on popular songs and album cover art belonging to EMI GROUP LTD., which was split up in 2011. The jury previously found on MARCH 19th that MP3TUNES and ROBERTSON were liable."
