The GEORGIA RADIO HALL OF FAME has announced the 2014 Legacy Inductees and Founders and Directors Award honoree.
The 2014 Legacy inductees are (in alphabetical order):
- SCOTTY ANDREWS: PD/morning host at WVEE/ATLANTA
- FRANK GAITHER: EVP COX BROADCASTING/Atlanta
- BILL HOOPES: Owner/Operator of WSFB/QUITMAN, GA
- BOB JOSEPH: Owner/Operator of WDYX A-F/BUFORD, GA
- THOMAS MAXWELL: Owner of WIBB/MACON, GA
- MATHER PAYNE: Owner of WRGA/ROME, GA
- WARREN ROBERTS: Host of "Gospel Music Time" on GEORGIA radio stations for over 40 years
- DICKIE SHANNON: Air personality on WBBQ/AUGUSTA, GA
- TEDI THURMAN: MIDVILLE, GA native who was 50's "Miss Monitor" on NBC radio network
- BRADLEY "SLIM" WILLIAMSON: Owned radio stations in GEORGIA and founder of Chart records
The 2014 Founders and Directors Award will be presented to BRAD BURKHART, widely considered the architect of the modern-day AC Christian format. In 1999, he became the first-ever living recipient of the GOSPEL MUSIC ASSOCIATION’s most prestigious radio award, The SCOTT CAMPBELL AWARD, for “outstanding and long-term contributions to the growth of Christian radio.”
