GREATER MEDIA Alternative WBOS (RADIO 92.90)/BOSTON is launching a search for the best local band to open up the 21st annual RADIO 92.9 EARTHFEST, which will be held at DCR’s HATCH MEMORIAL SHELL in BOSTON on MAY 17th. Bands residing in MASSACHUSETTS, NEW HAMPSHIRE and RHODE ISLAND are eligible to participate; 32 entries will be selected based on musicality, creativity, production and relevance to the format of the station.
Listeners will be able to vote for their favorite band from APRIL 15th-28th. The eight bands with the highest vote totals will be invited to participate in the two semi-final live performance rounds, scheduled for early MAY in BOSTON. Two bands from each semi-final performance will be selected by a panel of judges to perform at the finals along with one “People’s Choice” artist, selected by station listeners. The five finalists will perform on MAY 14th at the HARD ROCK CAFÉ in BOSTON.
The winning band will have the opportunity to perform at 25-minute set as the opener of the 21st annual RADIO 92.9 EARTHFEST on MAY 17th.
