CCM+E Urban WGCI and Urban AC sister WVAZ (V103)/CHICAGO have both made adjustments to their on-air lineups. CHRIS MICHAELS switches from WGCI to WVAZ for Quiet Storm duty in middays. He comes over after having been the longtime host of Quiet Whispers at WGCI.
Dir./Programming DERRICK BROWN stated, "I couldn't be more elated that CHRIS is joining V103. He is one of the best entertainers I've had the pleasure of working with. I have no doubt he will continue to captivate listeners with his unique brand of conversation and the best slow jams in CHICAGO."
"My on-air relationship has been one of the most fulfilling aspect of my life," MICHAELS said. "I am humbled that CHICAGO has accepted me and after 13 years, I am still very much in love with this job. I'm moving, but I know it's going to be a lot of fun."
Meanwhile WGCI taps part-time and weekender DJ MOON DAWG for nights. He is replacing AL B. SYLK.
WGCI PD KANARD KARTER said, "I'm excited to have DJ MOON DAWG take over nights at WGCI. He lives the lifestyle, knows the audience, and he is full of refreshing ideas. I believe he'll rewrite the way talent integrates listeners into our radio brand with his strong grasp of social media, energy, and passion for the format."
