Radio vet RAY MARINER has been named PD at CUMULUS Country WRKN (NASH 92.3)/NEW ORLEANS and Sports sister WMTI (106.1 THE TICKET).
NASH made the flip to Country in JANUARY (NET NEWS 1/6).
“RAY is a rare breed of programmer and talent,” said CUMULUS SVP/Programming MIKE McVAY. “He has shown his programming acumen by performing and succeeding at the highest level. We're excited to have him oversee the programming of both NASH-FM 92.3 and 106.1 THE TICKET in NEW ORLEANS."
Most recently an air personality at DICKEY BROADCASTING Sports WCNN-A/ATLANTA, MARINER’s career includes afternoons and mornings at LINCOLN FINANCIAL crosstown AC WSTR. He has previous programming experience too, in CHARLOTTE and MYRTLE BEACH.
“Both NASH FM 92.3 and THE TICKET have a ton of potential for growth,” said MARINER. “I'm excited to grow the NASH brand with great shows like 'AMERICA'S MORNING SHOW WITH BLAIR GARNER' and we're fortunate to have a big show with 'NASH NIGHTS LIVE WITH SHAWN PARR.' As for 106.1 THE TICKET, we have a solid talent in GUS KATTENGELL. The GKAT was born and raised in NEW ORLEANS and he's connected to the local sports scene. I'm going to THE GUMBO SHOP as soon as I get there! I want to thank JOHN DICKEY, MIKE MCVAY, JIM MAHANAY, JAN JEFFRIES and Market Manager SUSAN LUCCHESI for their confidence in me!”
MARINER begins his new role TUESDAY, APRIL 15th.
