Alison Cuddy Exits WBEZ To Join Chicago Humanities Festival

Arts and Culture reporter/producer ALISON CUDDY has exited CHICAGO PUBLIC MEDIA News-Talk WBEZ/CHICAGO to join the CHICAGO HUMANITIES FESTIVAL as PD, effective MAY 5th. CUDDY joined WBEZ in 2001 as Associate Producer for the show ODYSSEY and over the course of her time there, she co-hosted and produced the shows CHANGING CHANNELS and STRANGE BREWS and hosted EIGHT FORTY-EIGHT, produced CHICAGO MATTERS, and created WEEKENDER.
CHF Exec. Dir. PHILIP BAHAR said, "We’re excited to have ALISON join our team as we embark on our 25th anniversary this fall. ALISON will bring a robust set of ideas to our programming. Her background as a journalist, her broad and deep knowledge of arts and culture, and her commitment to the civic life of CHICAGO will be a boon to the Festival and its audiences."
CUDDY, who has participated in the Festival as a moderator since 2009. said, "In my role as moderator, I have experienced firsthand the creativity and professionalism of everyone at the CHICAGO HUMANITIES FESTIVAL, and I'm thrilled to be joining such a talented group. I look forward to working with the team to create programs that enrich public discourse and inspire new and vital ways to convene around shared experiences, just as CHF as done so significantly over the last 25 years.”
Artistic Dir. MATTI BUNZL added, "ALISON is a game-changer. From her work as a producer on WBEZ’s brilliant talk show ODYSSEY to her deeply informed reporting on CHICAGO’s arts and culture scene, she has brought remarkable conversations and programs to the city.
