The FCC has entered a consent decree with HAL GINSBURG's KRXA, LLC, licensee of Talk KRXA-A/CARMEL VALLEY, CA, settling sponsorship ID and indecency violations.
The station, which will make a "voluntary contribution" of $15,000 to the U.S. Treasury, aired a show and did not disclose that it was paid programming, and the show also allegedly violated indecency laws due to the host's language. The licensee is selling the station to EL SEMBRADOR MINISTRIES, which plans noncommercial operation as a satellite of Spanish Religion KHPY-A/MORENO VALLEY, CA, for $300,000; if the sale does not close, the licensee will add a three-year compliance plan. KRXA's programming, mostly syndicated "progressive talk" plus GINSBERG's morning show, plans to move to the Internet.
