PRINCE and WARNER BROS. RECORDS are back in business together reports BILLBOARD MAGAZINE. THE PURPLE ONE returns after 18 years with a new deal in which he regains ownership of his catalog. His classic WARNER albums like "DIRTY MIND", "CONTROVERSY", and "1999" will continue to be licensed through WARNER as part of a new global agreement.
In the deal PRINCE's legendary "PURPLE RAIN' album will be re-released in a remastered deluxe version in time for the 30th anniversary of the LP and movie. There are other planned re-issue projects and a new album, but it is unclear if the title is a part of the new agreement.
PRINCE reportedly said, " A brand new studio album is on the way and both WARNER BROS. RECORDS and I are quite pleased with the results of the negotiations and look forward to a fruitful working relationship."
