ALL ACCESS sends condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of CUPIT MUSIC GROUP’s KEVIN SHARP who passed away on SATURDAY (4/19) at the age of 43.
SHARP was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 18 though went into remission by the time he was 21. The aggressive treatment had continued to cause health problems for KEVIN into adulthood and was his cause of death, according to KevinSharp.com.
KEVIN’s singles included 1996’s "Nobody Knows" and 1997’s "She’s Sure Taking It Well" and "If You Love Somebody."
The Country music community has taken to TWITTER to share memories of the artist, including BILLY DEAN who said "My fellow Country artist KEVIN SHARP passed away last night and went to spend EASTER with JESUS. My prayers to the family." NEAL McCOY posted "A fellow make a MAKE-A-WISH and it comes true, meets DAVID FOSTER and grants many more of his own... Work well done. Go rest now, KEVIN SHARP." TY HERNDON stated "My heart and prayers go out to KEVIN and his family. Such a great man and talent. Journey On Brother. RIP."
Donations may be made in SHARP’s memory to MAKE-A-WISH, the foundation that helped launch his Country music career. A NASHVILLE memorial service is being planned. Specific details have not yet been released.
