ALL ACCESS is pleased to welcome longtime radio programmer ROB WAGMAN to our weekly editorial staff! Beginning this week, he's going to pen a new career column, "Raising The Bar," which will debut every TUESDAY. His first column is titled "TIAS SCHUSTER And The Paint Roller."
If you are not familiar with ROB, he has had a long and successful career in various radio programming roles at WNOW/NEW YORK, WBBM-F (B96)/CHICAGO, as well WFLZ/TAMPA, WHQC/CHARLOTTE, WEZB/NEW ORLEANS, WNTQ/SYRACUSE and is an ALL ACCESS Alum, as the Record Label Sales Manager from 2000-2005. Currently, afternoons at Christian KFSH/LOS ANGELES, ROB added another unique perspective to his background, his STRAIGHT PATH MEDIA + ENTERTAINMENT consulting firm which he launched last year.
According to WAGMAN, "'Raising The Bar,' is a column that could have been named 'Real Stories Of The Airwave Patrol,' featuring names you know and real incidences that helped to shape the success of a specific radio station or talent. These stories are written for the purpose to entertain, with the hope of inspiring the reader to strive for more in their present situation, with the ultimate goal being, a more rewarding future.
"The names are not changed to protect the innocent, in fact, with each article, I name names so that you will be able to reach out to the subject in the article and ask, 'Did you really do this?'
"We have a lot of hidden stories in our industry, and my goal is to excavate, find them, clean off the dirt, then display the parts that shine. In sharing my stories, I am inviting you to share yours, here."
ALL ACCESS President & Publisher JOEL DENVER added, "ROB's been a friend for more years than I can remember. He showed me a good number of these columns, and I found myself laughing out loud, and identifying with what was taking place. I think the humor, mixed with the advice ROB will bring to 'Raising The Bar,' will make this a weekly read.
Find it on our nav bar under Columns, then Career, then Raising The Bar. We hope that you enjoy it."
STRAIGHT PATH MEDIA + ENTERTAINMENT hyper-focuses on talent and each station's greatest need for growth, supplying a la cart programming services for branding, from music strategies, promotional and marketing think tank brain storming, promo and imaging creative, talent coaching and airchecking.
