While most of the nation's attention has been focused on today's (4/21) BOSTON MARATHON, and rightfully so, another race took place recently in LOUISVILLE, KY. While it did tie in with a certain high-profile competition coming up MAY 3, this particular race involved humans, not horses.
The KENTUCKY DERBY MARATHON is held every year just days before the 'big race' and took place this year on SATURDAY (4/19). ALPHA MEDIA (formerly MAINLINE) Top 40 WDJX PD/morning man BEN DAVIS took part. It was his first ever marathon. Wearing a shirt emblazoned with the phrase, "It's not a race, it's an experience," DAVIS completing the race in 4:06:15.
Asked how he felt, shortly after crossing the finish line, he told ALL ACCESS, "Great! Just don't ask me to climb any stairs."
