TOWNSQUARE Top 40 KSAS (103.5 KISS FM)/BOISE PD/morning man KEKE LUV is once again taking to the air to call attention to child abuse in THE TREASURE VALLEY. LUV is broadcasting LIVE FOR 175 hours - pushing the limits of human endurance.
It's the seventh year he has undertaken this endeavor, and LUV is reprising last year's eco-friendly format of having listeners help him achieve his goal by pedaling stationary bicycles, connected to a generator, which provide electric power to his studio booth. As LUV says, "cycling to break the cycle of child abuse." Over 2000 listeners have assisted riding since the event began 10am FRIDAY (4/18).
LUV told KTVB-TV, "I struggle really hard with talking about it because these stories are life-changing, life-altering for me. A little girl came in today and was telling me that because of what she heard on the radio she finally confronted her mom and slipped her mom a note and said, 'this is happening' and it got her out of harm's way."
LIVE FOR 175 will continue until Friday (4/25). Follow the broadcast at 1035kissfmboise.com.
