PUBLIC RADIO CAPITAL has changed its name to PUBLIC MEDIA COMPANY. The name change, the company said in a press release, is intended "to better reflect the breadth" of its work to fund the acquisition and enhance the operation of noncommercial media entities.
The new name is accompanied by a new website and CHANNEL X, a new "persistent marketplace for the discovery, licensing and broadcast of curated video content for public media audiences," offering a platform to connect producers and content providers directly with broadcast programmers complimenting traditional PBS offerings.
Also on tap soon is the PUBLIC MEDIA DATABASE, a data management tool for public broadcasters.
