The FCC has entered a consent decree in which MAVERICK MEDIA OF ROCKFORD LICENSE LLC will pay $185,000 to settle a claim that its then-Talk WNTA-A-W263BJ/ROCKFORD, IL aired a daily talk show, "STATELINE SHOWCASE," without properly disclosing that the show featured guests who paid to be on the show. The stations are being sold to MID-WAY RADIO (MID-WEST FAMILY BROADCASTING), which will institute a compliance plan; WNTA-A is now Spanish as LA MOVIDA WNTA AM 1330 and W263BJ has the Talk format simulcast with an HD2 channel.
The Commission has also proposed a channel change for a vacant FM allocation at CUSTER, MO and an Order to Show Cause for a downgrade of FAMILY LIFE RADIO Religion WUGN/MIDLAND, MI from Class C to Class C0 in order for ROY E. HENDERSON to be able to upgrade Talk WCUZ/BEAR LAKE, MI from a Class A to a Class C3 at a new frequency.
