SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA BROADCASTERS ASSOCIATION Pres. THOM CALLAHAN remains bullish on radio in his latest blog post, entitled “Like Moths to Radio’s Flame." Citing notable facts about SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA Radio, CALLAHAN believes that many talented people are finding their way to Radio careers, which bodes well for radio's collective future.
“I wanted to highlight the dynamic nature of Radio and all its platforms and why so many creative and motivated people find our industry so appealing," he said. "The lure of great talent to so many areas of Radio bodes very well for our business now and for decades to come as motivated people want to be where the careers are and SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA Radio is that definitive destination.”
He showcased a number of Radio’s professionals in a variety of jobs as real-world examples of the drive, determination, and career dedication these people exhibit towards their jobs and our industry. “A career in Radio and its many platforms is no longer linear,” he said. “Our industry is evolving and growing as audio content and its inherent advertising revenue opportunities are limited only by our imaginations and have surely become ubiquitous in our society.” We are becoming richer in human capital and that means explosive growth ahead.
"This post is more than a pep talk for our business as I wanted to share with our readers just a few of the many motivated individuals I meet every day who love their Radio careers and the professional and personal rewards each of them finds with Radio,” he concluded.
