It was a magical night last night at the first ever iHEARTRADIO MUSIC AWARDS show in LOS ANGELES held at the SHRINE AUDITORIUM. Even more so because MICHAEL JACKSON's "Love Never Felt So Good" single from the EPIC RECORDS release of his XSCAPE album was debuted, tweeted by iHEART prior to last nights event.
The posthumous album of MICHAEL JACKSON's unfinished material features eight cuts and will be released on MAY 12th in the U.K. and MAY 27th in the U.S. Nine-time GRAMMY AWARD winners MARY J. BLIGE and JUSTINE TIMBERLAKE are two of the featured guest vocalists on the album. There will also be a duet version of the new single with JACKSON and TIMBERLAKE available.
MJ's fans will be able to listen to the song in its entirety today during its radio world premiere on iHEART and other stations across the country.
"Love Never Felt So Good" was written, recorded, and produced by MICHAEL JACKSON and PAUL ANKA in 1983. USA TODAY described the tune as, "Old school snap and tingle with warm leaping strings that recall the melodic and rhythmic punch of JACKSON's work with QUINCY JONES." TIME called it, "An opulent, warm disco-soul number, which evokes OFF THE WALL as much as dead-on 2014."
Executively produced by EPIC RECORDS Chairman/CEO L.A. REID, the XSCAPE album features music which the world will be hearing for the first time. REID curated the final list of recordings and delivered them to the producers who retooled the production to add a fresh contemporary sound retaining JACKSON's essence and integrity.
TIMBALAND, the albums lead producer -- was one of a handful of producers REID believed had the depth and range to creatively spearhead the project. Additonal producers included RODNEY JERKINS, STARGATE, JEROME JROC HARMON and JOHN McCLAIN. A deluxe edition of the album will also include the original versions of each song.
