In deals filed with the FCC, EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION is swapping Contemporary Christian WVDA (AIR 1)/VALDOSTA, GA to AMERICAN FAMILY ASSOCIATION for Religion WTLG/STARKE, FL and Religion KNDW/WILLISTON, ND.
JOHN L. WHITE is selling Classic Country KOLJ-A and K264BI/QUANAH, TX to JAMES G. BOLES, JR. for $38,000.
FAMILY LIFE MINISTRIES, INC. is selling W284AP/BUFFALO, NY to ENTERCOM BUFFALO LICENSE, LLC for $125,000. The translator will rebroadcast WTSS-HD2, a simulcast of Talk WBEN-A.
COCHISE BROADCASTING LLC has applied for extensions of its Silent STAs for KXJW/NORTH ROCK SPRINGS, WY and KWXR/RELIANCE, WY due to financial considerations.
CALVARY CHAPEL OF SUSANVILLE has requested an extension of its Silent STA for KWLK/WESTWOOD, CA due to "a longer-than-expected process of meeting U.S. Forest Service requirements."
And KNIGHT BROADCASTING, INC. has closed on the sale of Classic Country KSMA-A (AM 1410 THE RANGE)/LOMPOC, CA to MICHAEL ALAN DAY's CROSS AND CROWN BROADCASTING CORP. for $160,000.
The FCC also affirmed its ruling that the license for WILKS LICENSE CO. -- COLUMBUS LLC's W272AT/COLUMBUS, OH expired after remaining silent for too long. The station went dark on MARCH 12th, 2010 due to interference, and after getting a Silent STA to extend the silent period through MARCH 13th, 2011, WILKS obtained a construction permit for a new facility which had an expiration date of OCTOBER 27th, 2013, but the permit was challenged by FRANKLIN COMMUNICATIONS INC.; meanwhile, WILKS built the new facility on a new frequency and began testing on NOVEMBER 10th, 2011. The Commission ruled that WILKS should have resumed operation by the MARCH 13th date of the Silent STA, and as a result the license had expired.
The Commission has allotted new FM channels to MORAN, TX; ROUGH ROCK, TX; MCCALL, ID; and TOHATCHI, NM and has approved a channel change for BRYAN BROADCASTING LICENSE CORP's construction permit for a new FM at CENTERVILLE, TX.
New low-power FM construction permits were granted to the following:
- ANZA CIVIC IMPROVEMENT LEAGUE, ANZA, CA
- BELIEVERS MISSIONARY FELLOWSHIP, PORT ISABEL, TX
- ESPIRITU DE COLUMBUS, INC, COLUMBUS, NM
- RAICES CULTURA, COACHELLA, CA
- GOSPEL SPOTS, INC., LA QUINTA, CA
- SLAT DEL SUR PUEBLO, YSELTA DEL SUR PUEBLO, TX
- CALVARY CHAPEL OF DEMING, DEMING, NM
