JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS radio play-by-play voice BRIAN SEXTON is coming off the air and taking on the job of Senior Correspondent of the NFL franchise's digital media group (JAGUARS.COM and social media). SEXTON, the play-by-play radio announcer for the entire existence of the team, is being replaced by new flagship station SEVEN BRIDGES RADIO Sports WJXL-A-F (1010XL 92.5 FM)JACKSONVILLE host FRANK FRANGIE. FRANGIE will join analysts JEFF LAGEMAN and TONY BOSELLI and field reporter RICK BALLOU on the broadcasts.
FRANGIE said, “I'm beyond humbled. I think so many people – including all of us at 1010 XL – are truly excited about this franchise and where it is headed. To be part of the team, and to be entrusted to help tell its story on a week-to-week basis, is an honor beyond belief. I can’t wait to begin.”
SEXTON said, “I’m thrilled about returning to the JAGUARS and am excited for this new opportunity. This is a career change for me and I welcome the challenge of helping to grow the JAGUARS’ fan base through digital and social efforts. They’ve got a great group in place and together we want to help create more JAGUARS fans around the world and engage with them more deeply with even more great content.”
JAGUARS Pres. MARK LAMPING said, “We’re excited to have BRIAN in this new role to help us grow our fan base, and we’re equally excited to have FRANK and RICK join the broadcast team. BRIAN did a great job for 19 seasons in the radio booth, and that experience and knowledge will transfer very naturally into his new position. We’re eager to develop and utilize the best ways to reach fans and to engage our followers in the social media space, and these moves will help in our efforts to do that.”
