The HIP HOP HALL OF FAME will honor hip hop legends at an induction ceremony and concert television taping in NYC MONDAY MAY 19th 8p at STAGE 48, reports BILLBOARD.
Honorees inducted this year will include THE SUGARHILL GANG, CHARLES AHEARN and the film "Wildstyle", MR. MAGIC, BUSY BEE, SPOONIE G & THE TREACHEROUS THREE, THE SEQUENCE, CORNBREAD, MERCEDES LADIES, DJ HOLLYWOOD, THE TWINS, STAY HIGH 149, ERNIE PANICCIOLI, and VIDEO MUSIC BOX creator RALPH McDANIEL. .
The Late DJ E-Z ROCK who recorded "It Takes Two" with ROB BASE will be memorialized during a ceremoney highlighted by an all-star performance.
HIP HOP HALL OF FAME Founder JT THOMPSON said, "The artists, groups, deejays, b-bop boys/girls, graffiti artists, and entrepreneurs being inducted have all made significant contributions to the birth, establishment, and advancement of the hip hop culture. This awards show is going to be memorable and will go down in music history."
The show will be hosted by HIP HOP ICON MC ROXANNE SHANTE and DJ MELL STAR. Those scheduled to perform include TALIB KWELI, BRAND NUBIAN, SLICK RICK, MC BUSY BEE, NINE, and a special appearance by RAKIM.
