ALL ACCESS is very saddened to report the untimely passing of VIVIENNE VAUGHAN, aged 67, after complications following a stroke.
VIVIENNE joined Top 40 WRQX (Q107)/WASHINGTON, DC in 1979, eventually becoming Dir./Advertising & Promotions during its 1980s heyday. VIVIENNE was part of the legendary team at the station, led by GM ERNIE FEARS, that included PD ALAN BURNS, DONNA BURNS and MARTY WALL. She was the driving force behind many of the station's high profile promotions, including the annual BEACH BOYS concert on the NATIONAL MALL each 4th of JULY, fundraising dinners with the WASHINGTON REDSKINS and the infamous "HEY JUDE" phone-in competitions which at one point brought down the WHITE HOUSE lines.
A WASHINGTON D.C. memorial celebration is planned, and any donations can be sent to HOSPICE OF WAKE COUNTY,250 Hospice Cir, RALEIGH, NC 27607 in her memory. She will be laid to rest with her parents and grandparents in her native UK. VIVIENNE is survived by her daughters SAMANTHA and REBECCA."
