Toward the end of TUESDAY night’s (5/6) “5th ANNUAL WE'RE ALL FOR THE HALL” benefit show at NASHVILLE’s BRIDGESTONE ARENA, KEITH URBAN, who served as host for the night, announced that the concert had raised at least $600,000, although that figure was unofficial.
Proceeds from the event went to the COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM.
The night was a loose and casual affair, but never short of musical moments, which came early and often. URBAN’s co-host for the night was none other than VINCE GILL; the two kicked off the show with a cover of THE EVERLY BROTHERS’ “Wake Up Little Susie,” then served as members of the backup band for the night, periodically spicing things up with their own songs.
KACEY MUSGRAVES and CARRIE UNDERWOOD each covered DOLLY PARTON songs, singing, “Here You Come Again,” and “I Will Always Love You,” respectively – and impressively.
The lineup featured a mix of contemporary and familiar artists, including BRETT ELDREDGE, DAVID NAIL, KIP MOORE, BRANTLEY GILBERT, LEE ANN WOMACK and DARIUS RUCKER plus DEANNA CARTER, MARY CHAPIN CARPENTER, REBA and recently announced COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAMER, RONNIE MILSAP.
The entire lineup teamed at the end of the night for a group rendition of RUCKER’s “Wagon Wheel.”
