WCAR Switches To Yahoo! Sports Radio

BIRACH BROADCASTING Sports WCAR-A (NBC SPORTS RADIO 1090)/DETROIT is changing programming providers again, this time picking up YAHOO! SPORTS RADIO. The changeover begins MONDAY (5/12), with WCAR picking up the full YSR lineup. The station aired ESPN RADIO in 2012-13 and switched to NBC SPORTS RADIO last year when ESPN moved to crosstown GREATER MEDIA Sports WMGC (DETROIT SPORTS 105.1).
YSR CEO DAVID GOW said, “We have been experiencing tremendous growth in 2014, adding affiliates in a number of strategic markets, such as ST. LOUIS, LAS VEGAS and RENO, We are delighted to announce today our newest affiliate in DETROIT. We are excited to convert WCAR to YAHOO! SPORTS RADIO, and to build a connection with the passionate sports fans of DETROIT.”
YSR COO CRAIG LARSON added, “Our lineup of guys like STEVE CZABAN, BOB RYAN, TRAVIS RODGERS, SEAN SALISBURY, DAN WETZEL and PAT FORDE is one of the top rosters in the country. Our content is fueling significant growth for the network.”
