NASSAU BROADCASTING's LOU MERCANTANTI tells the BOSTON GLOBE that he plans to take the format and programming of soon-to-be-acquired WCRB/BOSTON nationwide and will flip up to five of the company's 23 NEW ENGLAND stations to Classical.
MERCANTANTI told the GLOBE that he plans to launch the proposed Classical network based on WCRB programming by MARCH 2007. NASSAU already runs some WCRB programming on its Classical "W-BACH" stations in MAINE; it is purchasing the WCRB calls and format and the 99.5 signal of Country WKLB/LOWELL-BOSTON from GREATER MEDIA, which is keeping WCRB's 102.5 FM signal and WKLB's format and calls.
