CLEAR CHANNEL Rock WMMS/CLEVELAND morning host SHANE "ROVER" FRENCH and sidekick MICHAEL "CHOCOLATE CHARLEY" TOOMEY pleaded guilty to four misdemeanor counts each on MONDAY (5/12) in a plea deal that saw prosecutors drop felony charges in their dispute with an off-duty policeman during the JULY 4th holiday break last year.
The CLEVELAND PLAIN DEALER reports that FRENCH and TOOMEY each pleaded guilty to inducing panic, disorderly conduct, illegal use of fireworks and criminal damaging and were handed fines of $750 each plus a year of probation and six-month suspended jail sentences and $3,414 in restitution to a family affected by the incident. FRENCH apologized before Common Pleas Judge BRIAN CORRIGAN entered the sentences, which averted a scheduled MAY 20th trial in the case, which arose from accusations by Officer STEVEN KINAS that FRENCH shot fireworks at his boat and then shoved him, which FRENCH disputed.
