Entercom Flips WGCV

The FCC has just approved ENTERCOM's purchase of Oldies WGCV, Classic Rock WROA and Rock WTPT/GREENVILLE, SC. And, at midnight on TUESDAY (10/4) ENTERCOM flipped WGCV from Oldies to their hybrid of Christian and Country under the name THE WALK which had previously been airing as a simulcast on WOLI & WOLT.

Following the format flip, the entire Oldies WGCV staff has been let go including PD/morning driver BOB McLAIN, who is now doing fill in weather for FOX CAROLINA. Middayer PENNY LANE is now managing an OLAN MILLS PHOTOGRAPHY studio and afternoon driver SCOTT O'BRIEN has moved to COLORADO SPRINGS to do mornings on Country KCCY.
