Fatal Shooting Outside KADI

VISION COMMUNICATIONS Contemporary Christian KADI (99 HIT FM)/SPRINGFIELD MO was at the center of a firestorm yesterday, as a man came running into the station screaming for someone to call 911.

PD/ROD KITTLEMAN explains, "All the commotion started about 3p yesterday.   Two guys were in a storage unit beside the station, and the manager who worked there confronted them with a gun.  She started firing shots at them.  Not sure why, or what might have caused her to do this.  Don’t know what her situation was, or why she would have approached them in the first place.  One of the guys climbed over an eight-foot fence, running for his life.  He came into the station and told us to call 911.  He was just frantic, and said his friend was still over there."

ROD continues, "We called 911, and literally 20 police cars and Sherriff deputies all show up in our driveway.  They confronted the lady and told her to put her gun down three different times, but she kept coming in and out of the building and wouldn't comply.  Then she walked out toward the police, looking like she was going to shoot them, and the police had to shoot her first.  Nothing is confirmed right now, and they are trying to figure out why this happened.  There is speculation that she may have been intent on committing suicide by cop, as she was suffering from cancer.  So very tragic."
