After a four-year hiatus, AMERICAN GENERAL MEDIA will re-launch AC KPTE (92.9 THE POINT)/BAYFIELD-DURANGO, CO with a new look and sound offering "DURANGO's BEST VARIETY."
Sister Rock KRWN 92.9 moves down the dial to 92.5, which currently simulcasts sister Top 40 KKDG (99X).
THE POINT originally serviced the DURANGO market from 1997 on the 99.7 frequency prior to transforming into Top 40 KKDG (99X) in 2011. THE POINT will launch with two weeks of commercial-free music on TUESDAY (5/20) playing the hits from the '80s to today.
Production Director/Account. Exec. ASHLEY DICKSON has been named PD of the station and commented, "This is the station that will cater to the new generation of people establishing themselves in DURANGO. The classics are changing. My classics aren’t my parent’s classics, so this station really caters to the folks who grew up in the 80s and 90s."
According to Sales Mgr. ALEX BRANDON, "THE POINT will be a great station for our listeners, and will provide tremendous benefits for our advertisers. We will re-introduce a genre of music that was missing here in DURANGO, which will primarily reach women between the ages of 25 and 54. This is the demographic with the greatest purchasing power in DURANGO."
GM BILL KRUGER added, "We’re very excited to introduce this new concept to the DURANGO market. We’re catering to a new age of radio listeners and focusing on our digital platform with live online streaming and mobile apps."
