VALORY MUSIC’s BRANTLEY GILBERT released his “Just As I Am” album YESTERDAY (5/19), bringing his fans new music for the first time in four years.
GILBERT kicked off launch week with a visit to his hometown of ATHENS, GA, where he and his family entertained radio and other guests, including ALL ACCESS Editorial Assistant, BRITTANY PELLEGRINO, who filed this report:
Last NIGHT (5/19), GILBERT was surprised by his label with a #1 party and plaque presentation at his home in ATHENS. BIG MACHINE LABEL GROUP Pres./CEO SCOTT BORCHETTA presented BRANTLEY with a RECORDING INDUSTRY OF AMERICA (RIAA) certified GOLD plaque for “Kick It In The Sticks," and certified PLATINUM hardware for GILBERT’s singles “Country Must Be Country Wide,” “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do,” and “Bottoms Up.” His 2010 album “Halfway To Heaven” was also certified PLATINUM.
GILBERT hosted radio remotes this MORNING (5/20) from his alma mater, JEFFERSON HIGH SCHOOL, where he spoke exclusively with PELLEGRINO for a “10 Questions” feature to be posted MONDAY, MAY 26th.
BRANTLEY’s hometown visit wraps up TONIGHT with a sold-out show at the GEORGIA THEATRE, before embarking on a HARLEY DAVIDSON motorcycle ride tomorrow, which starts in ATHENS and concludes MONDAY, MEMORIAL DAY (5/26) at ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY. The ride is designed to raise awareness for the military charity FOLDS OF HONOR, which provides support to families of disabled and fallen AMERICAN heroes.
ALL ACCESS will follow GILBERT all week, first with PELLEGRINO, then Assistant NASHVILLE Editor MISTI DOUGLAS filing daily updates.
