AKRON PUBLIC SCHOOLS Triple A (THE SUMMIT) has announced the opening of the KIDJAM! RADIO BROADCAST RECORDING STUDIO at AKRON CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL. When the studio opens on MAY 30th, it will offer young patients a unique radio broadcast recording experience, as part of programming through the hospital's existing EMILY COOPER WELTY EXPRESSIVE THERAPY CENTER.
"The KIDJAM! STUDIO program is designed to augment the healing and coping process for these kids, through its innovative focus on media education, self-reflection and fun. We are so excited to partner with AKRON CHILDREN's and to air the first broadcast," says TOMMY BRUNO, GM and Exec. Director at THE SUMMIT.
KIDJAM! Radio was introduced by THE SUMMIT IN 2011 as a highly accessible, healthy radio channel for pre-teens. Kids and their families can listen from anywhere in Northeast Ohio -- or the world -- through the internet and new smart-phone app. The program's goal is to reach thousands of youth with the channel's upbeat, appropriate music and supportive, educational messaging broadcast by kids, for kids.
