VALORY MUSIC’s BRANTLEY GILBERT continued his “Just As I Am” album launch week TODAY (5/21), embarking on a six-day motorcycle ride to raise awareness for the FOLDS OF HONOR FOUNDATION. Powered by HARLEY DAVIDSON, the ride kicked off at the ATHENS, GA HARLEY DEALERSHIP and will conclude MONDAY (5/26) at ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETARY. Before leaving, GILBERT interacted with fans, military, and media, including ALL ACCESS Editorial Assistant BRITTANY PELLEGRINO, who filed this report:
You can definitely feel the excitement surrounding the official start of the “ATHENS TO ARLINGTON” motorcycle ride. I had a chance to speak with BRANTLEY about his emotions of kicking off the ride and what it means to him.
“At this point, I’m stoked beyond belief,” said BRANTLEY. “I can’t wait to get on the bike and get on the road. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to ride farther than just an hour or two. I’m looking forward to putting miles on the bike, and looking forward to doing it for a good cause. I’m really looking forward to FOLDS OF HONOR giving out a scholarship at each stop too. I think that’s going to be something special for all of us. It’s going to be a blast. Y’all buckle up!”
With MEMORIAL DAY approaching, we are all reminded of the sacrifices our MILITARY men and women make on a day-to-day basis. FOLDS OF HONOR spokesperson MAJOR ED told ALL ACCESS he’s glad to have BRANTLEY raise awareness for the organization, and the military in general.
“It’s a great day to be an AMERICAN; at the FOLDS OF HONOR FOUNDATION we give scholarships to the families of soldiers who are fallen or wounded. BRANTLEY GILBERT has stepped up to the plate and hit a home run for our MILITARY families,” said MAJOR ED. “Not only is he riding to ARLINGTON CEMETERY, but he’s going to raise awareness between ATHENS and there. We’re going to be able to honor the men and women who fight for our freedom, and honor their families by providing them educational scholarships,” he continued. “I’m just so honored that I’m a part of this with BRANTLEY, making sure that we leave no one behind on the field of battle. I want to honor not only our enlisted and commissioned officers, but our VIETNAM veterans that ride HARLEYS. I’m honored that BIG MACHINE stepped up as part of this tour to make a difference.”
There will be two stops TODAY (5/21); First, a BEST BUY location in ATLANTA, followed by the HARLEY DAVIDSON dealership in AUGUSTA, GA where BRANTLEY will meet and greet with fans, do an acoustic performance, then sign copies of “Just As I Am,” which was released MONDAY (5/19)
ALL ACCESS will follow GILBERT all week, first with PELLEGRINO, then Assistant NASHVILLE Editor MISTI DOUGLAS filing daily updates. (NET NEWS 5/20).
