Longtime radio veteran BEAU PHILLIPS has written a tell-all book of some of his unforgettable career moments, entitled "I Killed PINK FLOYD’s Pig." His book is a collection of 35 first-hand stories that have never been told, accompanied by dozens of photographs.
The book title refers to the time when PHILLIPS "convinced PINK FLOYD to loan me their 40-foot inflatable pig to fly above our radio station for the week leading up to their concert. The band agreed as long as we promised to guard their pig with our lives. Not only did the pig call attention to PINK FLOYD’s upcoming show, it became a media sensation, attracting TV helicopters and traffic congestion. The pig also drew the attention of a marksman who shot it down with a hunting arrow. Quite a trophy. With an enormous rip in its chest and no time to spare, we scoured the town, searching for someone to perform immediate surgery. It was a race against the clock to repair PINK FLOYD’s pig and return it to the band in time for their concert that night."
The book’s foreword was written by SAMMY HAGAR, who met PHILLIPS met in the late 1970s. “BEAU has seen all of the rock & roll craziness - and his book is loaded with amazing stories," HAGAR said.
