Buckley Sells KWAV/Monterey To Mapleton; Renda Sells WJAS/Pittsburgh

BUCKLEY BROADCASTING is selling AC KWAV/MONTEREY, CA to MAPLETON COMMUNICATIONS for an undisclosed price. DICK FOREMAN of RICHARD A. FOREMAN ASSOCIATES, INC. represented BUCKLEY in the deal.
BUCKLEY Pres./CEO JOE BILOTTA said, "Our ability to compete in the highly consolidated MONTEREY–SALINAS market with a free standing FM was a significant reason to entertain and eventually sell KWAV TO MAPLETON COMMUNICATIONS. With this acquisition, MAPLETON will be even more of an impact player in the MONTEREY market and they are very excited to have the BUCKLEY station as part of their growing cluster and company. For over 30 years, we have owned this wonderful facility and want to extend a heartfelt thanks to the many people who have contributed to our success... Employees, Advertisers, and Loyal Listeners."
And MAPLETON is also spinning off AC KBOQ (B103.9)/MONTEREY to SAUL LEVINE's MOUNT WILSON FM BROADCASTERS for an undisclosed price.
In deals filed with the FCC, RENDA BROADCASTING CORPORATION OF NEVADA is selling Adult Standards WJAS-A/PITTSBURGH to FRANK IORIO, JR.'s PITTSBURGH RADIO PARTNERS LLC for $1 million. IORIO owns Talk WNAE-A-W244CU and Oldies WRRN/WARREN, PA, Country WKNB (KINZUA COUNTRY 104)/CLARENDON, PA, and Religion WLKE/GALLITZIN, PA along with the construction permit for a new FM at SHEFFIELD, PA.
JOSE ANTONIO AGUILAR is selling KHBE/BIG WELLS, TX to ORGANIZACION ICC for $75,000.
EXPONENT BROADCASTING, INC. is selling Oldies WPGY-A and W286BD/ELLIJAY, GA to TRI-STATE COMMUNICATIONS, INC. for $56,250 ($50,000 for the AM, $6,250 for the translator).

And RUDOLPH HOLLAND has closed on the sale of the construction permit for FM translator W282BX/TRAMWAY, NC to CURTIS MEDIA's EASTERN AIRWAVES, LLC for $10,000.
Also, OKLAHOMA JAZZ HALL OF FAME, INC. has been granted a construction permit for a new low power FM station in TULSA, OK.
