ALPHA Top 40 KBFF (Live 95.5)/PORTLAND announced yesterday (6/3) that the MORNING MESS with TANYA, HANNAH and MIKE have offered to hold a graduation party for banned SOUTH SALEM high school student, RAUL VILLARREAL, in the downtown BING LOUNGE venue.
In details from a report on KATU.com, VILLARREAL, an honor student and captain of the wrestling team with no previous problems in school, accused administrators and a school police officer of harassing and pressuring him into a false confession of smoking pot before the school prom.
VILLARREAL was kicked out of prom, suspended and told he isn’t allowed to walk on stage for graduation. The student took a drug test four days after prom which showed negative drug test results, but the school denied his appeal.
#freeraul quickly became a number one TWITTER trending topic which caught the attention of the MORNING MESS. Co-host TANYA BROWN commented on the situation, "As a mom, I believe this young man deserves to walk across the stage during commencement. He has no history of trouble all throughout high school."
VILLARREAL has been accepted and plans to attend WESTERN OREGON UNIVERSITY in the fall.
