WPOI's Jayde Donovan Awards iPads To Kids With Cancer

COX Top 40 WPOI (HOT 101.5)/TAMPA morning host JAYDE DONOVAN will throw a party for some really amazing children this SATURDAY (6/7) at the HOT 101.5 studios.

For the second year in a row, JAYDE awarded an iPAD each weekday in MAY to a child that is battling childhood cancer. Her mission, one of passion and empathy, was to honor the memory of her dear friend BRITTANY, who passed away in 2010.

"Kids want to be outside playing with their friends, not in the hospital for weeks on end," Jayde said, adding "Cancer takes away their freedom and can make a child feel lonely and isolated. The gift of an iPad means reconnecting these kids to a world they temporarily can't be a part of. I've seen first hand how this one small gesture can make a huge impact in a child's life. Suddenly they're in touch with friends and family, using FACETIME with their teachers, and they're similing again."

The children and their families will be treated to lunch, an appearance by TAMPA BAY RAYS mascot RAYMOND and receive tours of the station. JAYDE will present each child their very own iPAD, and there will be APPLE GENIUSES to demonstrate how they work.
