Condolences to family and friends of longtime TRIBUNE News-Talk WGN-A/CHICAGO news reporter LARRY SCHREINER, who died THURSDAY night of cardiac arrest at 73, according to the station.
SCHREINER was a CHICAGO police officer when he began freelancing news film production for WGN-TV in 1968, first selling footage of the looting and burning on the SOUTH SIDE in the aftermath of Dr. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR.'s assassination to the TV station. He moved to WGN radio as a reporter, specializing on crime stories.
