Late in MAY, NEAL ARDMAN’s BROADCAST PARTNERS’ Classic Country WJSJ FERNADINA BEACH/JACKSONVILLE posted a message on its FACEBOOK page reading in part, "...due to a lack of sufficient advertiser support we will have to make a format change on 6/1."
Sure enough, the station this week relaunched as Top 40 formatted COAST 105.3, "NASSAU County's Hit Music Station."
This gives the market three Top 40s, including COX's WAPE (95.1 WAPE) and CCM+E's WNWW (97.9 KISS FM). The station had been Classic Country since OCTOBER last year, and was Classic Hits and before that.
With the format change, morning host LEROY BOOMER, exits the station.
