KIRO/Seattle Picks 'Standout Student Of The Year'

BONNEVILLE News-Talk KIRO-F/SEATTLE, its MYNORTHWEST.COM, and sponsors COMPREHENSIVE WEALTH MANAGEMENT and the ROTARY CLUB OF LYNNWOOD have selected SHORECREST HIGH SCHOOL senior SOPHIE KNUDSON as the grand prize winner of a $10,000 scholarship as the “Standout Student of the Year.”

KNUDSON was one of nine monthly winners of $1,000 scholarships, and was one of three grand prize finalists selected by the general public through on-line voting at MYNORTHWEST.COM.  A panel selected KNUDSON as the grand prize winner, announced TODAY (6/6) by KIRO morning host DAVE ROSS.

VP/GM CARL GARDNER said, “Our heartiest congratulations to SOPHIE and to her family.  At KIRO we believe that every young person in our community has a spark of greatness within. SOPHIE is a terrific role model and inspiration to all of us, for the way she’s turned her spark into a bright lantern. She has not only made the most of her education, she’s also made a remarkable impact upon those around her. We can’t wait to see what lies ahead in her life.”
