The LED ZEPPELIN reissue campaign is off to a prolific start as the deluxe editions of Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin II, and Led Zeppelin III have each debuted in the Top 10 of the SOUNDSCAN TOP 200 Albums chart, charting at #7, #9, and #10, respectively. Following their worldwide release, all three albums have seen similar success internationally, ranking in the Top 20 in multiple countries.
The release of deluxe editions of the band's first three albums (available from ATLANTIC/SWAN SONG) launched an extensive reissue program of all nine of the band's studio albums in chronological order, each remastered by guitarist and producer JIMMY PAGE. The band has opened the vaults to share dozens of unheard studio and live recordings, with each album featuring a second disc of companion audio comprised entirely of unreleased music related to that album.
LED ZEPPELIN formed in 1968 and over the next decade became one of the most influential, innovative and successful groups, selling more than 300 million albums worldwide.
They continue to be honored for their pivotal role in music history. They were inducted into the ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME in 1995, received a GRAMMY LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD in 2005, and a year later was awarded with the POLAR MUSIC PRIZE in STOCKHOLM. Founding members JOHN PAUL JONES, JIMMY PAGE and ROBERT PLANT -- along with JASON BONHAM, the son of JOHN BONHAM -- took the stage at LONDON's O2 ARENA in 2007 to headline a tribute concert for their dear friend and ATLANTIC RECORDS founder AHMET ERTEGUN. The band was honored for its lifetime contribution to AMERICAN culture at the KENNEDY CENTER HONORS in 2012. Early this year, the band won their first-ever GRAMMY as Celebration Day, which captured their live performance at the ERTEGUN tribute concert, was named Best Rock Album.
