RTDNA Announces 2014 National RTDNA/UNITY Award Winners

The RADIO TELEVISION DIGITAL NEWS ASSOCIATION and UNITY: JOURNALISTS FOR DIVERSITY have announced the winners of its 2014 National RTDNA/UNITY Awards. The awards will be presented on OCTOBER 6th in NEW YORK.
Chairman CHRIS CARL said, "RTDNA and UNITY are proud to recognize outstanding journalism focused on diversity. Our winners demonstrate how news organizations can share a deep commitment to covering the breadth and depth of our communities."
Exec. Dir. MIKE CAVENDISH added, "When we established the RTDNA/UNITY Awards, our hope was to encourage newsrooms to tell stories that inform, educate and inspire. Audiences are the ultimate winners because these stories are being told."
Radio winners were:
Network: PRI's THE WORLD, "Global Nation: Stories of a Changing AMERICA"
Large Market: UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON News-Talk KUOW/SEATTLE, "Black in SEATTLE"
Small Market: ALABAMA PUBLIC RADIO, "Remembering 1963"
