Brad And Britt Exit WBT/Charlotte

GREATER MEDIA News-Talk WBT-A-F/CHARLOTTE 6-9p (ET) hosts BRAD KRANTZ and BRITT WHITMIRE have exited the station.  BRAD and BRITT were informed TODAY (6/12) by a phone call that WEDNESDAY's show was their last for the station; the hosts tell ALL ACCESS that the final show had been set for FRIDAY before the call came in two days early.  WBT's schedule for next week adds a news hour, "CHARLOTTE AT SIX," for 6-7p weekdays, followed by fill-in host and former night host DOC WASHBURN.

KRANTZ and WHITMIRE joined WBT in 2012 for afternoons after a run at CURTIS MEDIA Talk WZTK/GREENSBORO and an interim stint simulcasting in afternoons at CURTIS Talk WSJS-A/GREENSBORO and WPTF-A/RALEIGH.  KRANTZ was on WBT as part of the SPIRES AND KRANTZ team in afternoons in 1999-2003 and spent time at WKRR and WKEW/GREENSBORO, WZOU/BOSTON, WPIX/NEW YORK, WJOK-A/GAITHERSBURG-WASHINGTON, WMOU/BERLIN, NH, KIOA-A/DES MOINES, and WTVN-A/COLUMBUS on his way to talk radio; WHITMIRE was on "MURPHY IN THE MORNING" with JACK MURPHY at WKZL/GREENSBORO and was at WXQR/JACKSONVILLE, NC, WRHT-WCBZ (96.3/103.7 THE HOT FM)/MOREHEAD CITY, NC, and WKXB (JAMMIN 99.9)/WILMINGTON, NC before that.
