Former SUMMIT MEDIA executive DAVID DUBOSE's motion to amend his complaint against former employer COX MEDIA GROUP, LLC to add COX RADIO as a defendant has been denied. DUBOSE sued COX MEDIA GROUP for failing to pay him $310,686.97 in bonuses he says he earned during the sale of COX's BIRMINGHAM cluster to SUMMITMEDIA; the court noted that DUBOSE "apparently stated as far back as SEPTEMBER 13th, 2013 that he intended to add COX RADIO as a defendant" but that FEBRUARY 1st, 2014 had been set as the deadline for amending the suit.
DUBOSE exited SUMMIT MEDIA in MAY and filed his amended complaint at the same time in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of ALABAMA, Southern Division. The original suit alleged that COX reneged on a promised bonus for staying with the company's BIRMINGHAM cluster while it was being sold to SUMMIT, and that he also earned a bonus for helping upgrade signals in several markets.
