WCSG's John Balyo Charged With Criminal Sexual Conduct

CORNERSTONE UNIVERSITY Contemporary Christian WCSG (91.3)/GRAND RAPIDS was rocked to the core on FRIDAY, JUNE 20th when morning show host JOHN BALYO was arrested at the BIG TICKET FESTIVAL on a first-degree criminal sexual conduct charge.

These allegations are a shock to both WCSG and the Christian music industry, as they have come to know and trust JOHN over the years, and have seen nothing in his character to indicate any type of problem.

The arrest is a result of an investigation by MICHIGAN STATE POLICE, BATTLE CREEK POLICE, and HOMELAND SECURITY INVESTIGATIONS.  BALYO is accused of paying a man to arrange sexual encounters with minors.  He is being held in the CALHOUN COUNTY JAIL until arraignment.

WCSG GM CHRIS LEMKE said, "Late FRIDAY morning we learned of the arrest and allegations against JOHN BALYO, WCSG morning radio host. We are shocked and deeply saddened by the news as you might be as well.  We trust in a God who is just and sovereign and will see us through this difficult time.

"Effective today (SATURDAY JUNE 21st) JOHN BALYO is no longer affiliated with WCSG radio.   We ask you to join us in praying for God to be glorified through this situation and for justice to prevail. We also ask for your prayers for JOHN, his family, and all those involved surrounding the allegations.

"We know you may have many questions that we don't have the answers to right now. We hope to be as transparent as possible about all the information that comes available. In that light, I’ll be sharing information and thoughts at 7:30a ET MONDAY during the WCSG morning show.  Thank you for your support."
