GAB Radio Talent Institute Concludes This Week

The ten day GEORGIA ASSOCIATION OF BROADCASTERS RADIO TALENT INSTITUTE concludes on WEDNESDAY (6/25) this week at GRADY COLLEGE, UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA with SALEM COMMUNICATIONS SVP ALLEN POWER leading the session “Now is the Time to Start Thinking Like a Pro.”
Students/future broadcasters, who have already been certified as Radio Marketing Professionals by the RAB, were the live studio audience of the RYAN CAMERON Morning Show with WANDA SMITH and BIG TIGGER from CBS RADIO Urban WVEE (V103)/ATLANTA, broadcasting live from the campus, and learned from CHIP CAREY of the ATLANTA BRAVES and WES DURHAM from THE FALCONS and FOX SPORTS SOUTH among a strong lineup of almost 40 radio pros teaching over the ten days of the Institute.
Over the weekend CUMULUS MEDIA EVP/Co-COO JOHN DICKEY talked to the students about branding and the exciting opportunities they have ahead of them; COX MEDIA GROUP's BEN REED encouraged students to think like “media doctors” addressing needs of advertisers and listeners.
In JULY, DAN VALLIE and the NATIONAL RADIO TALENT SYSTEM will convene the inaugural RADIO TALENT INSTITUTE at BLOOMSBURG UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA and the second annual KBA WKU Radio Talent Institute at WESTERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY.
