JOSH BROADCASTING, LLC (SUNNYLANDS BROADCASTING, LLC and JODESHA BROADCASTING, INC.) is selling Spanish Contemporary Christian KLSY (93.7 FAMILIA FM, formerly KANY)/MONTESANO, WA-TACOMA-SEATTLE to CENTRO FAMILIAR CRISTIANO for $6.75 million in a seller note plus an LMA before closing.
In other filings with the FCC, MONEY MATTERS RADIO, INC. is selling Business Talk WESO-A/SOUTHBRIDGE, MA to EMMANUEL COMMUNICATIONS, INC. for $250,000. The station will be converted to noncommercial status.
NEW BEGINNING WORLD OUTREACH CENTER, INC. is selling silent noncommercial WNBV/GRUNDY, VA to HOMETOWN NEWS & MEDIA for $25,000.
YOUNG URBAN BROADCASTER ASSOCIATION has refiled its application to transfer low power FM KRHM-LP/BAKERSFIELD, CA to PENTECOSTAL CHURCH OF GOD, I.M. 10 RPCA for a monthly $520 rent payment.
TURQUOISE BROADCASTING CO., LLC has filed for a Silent STA for K233CC/SEWARD, AK to allow for conversion of the transceiver upconverter.
MMTC BROADCASTING LLC has closed on the sale of KZZD-A/SALEM, OR to EDWARD C. DISTELL for $75,249.
And COMMUNITY PUBLIC RADIO, INC. has closed on the sale of noncommercial WIVL/JASPER, GA to JOY CHRISTIAN COMMUNICATIONS, INC. for $60,000.
Also, LA VERGNE EDUCATIONAL MEDIA has been granted a construction permit for a new low power FM station at LA VERGNE, TN.
In television deals related to radio companies, COX MEDIA GROUP is swapping its FOX affiliate KTVU (TV)/SAN FRANCISCO and independent KICU-TV/SAN JOSE to FOX TELEVISION STATIONS, INC. for FOX O&Os WFXT-TV (FOX 25)/BOSTON and WHBQ-TV (FOX 13)/MEMPHIS. SAN FRANCISCO was the largest market in which FOX did not own its affiliate, which BOSTON will now become. COX will maintain FOX affiliation in BOSTON and MEMPHIS after the deal is complete.
And SINCLAIR BROADCAST GROUP continues to spin off stations to try and satisfy the FCC to clear the purchase of the ALLBRITTON stations, selling ABC affiliate WHTM-TV (ABC 27)/HARRISBURG, PA to MEDIA GENERAL and the non-license assets of FOX affiliate WTAT-TV/CHARLESTON, SC to licensee CUNNINGHAM COMMUNICATIONS; SINCLAIR will get $97.4 million between the two deals. SINCLAIR must comply with the FCC's ownership caps and new restrictions on joint sales agreements and shared services agreements by JULY 27th to get approval of the ALLBRITTON deal, which will bring SINCLAIR, among other stations, ABC affiliate WJLA-TV/WASHINGTON.
